Stress Relief for the Adults in the Classroom (2 hours)
Section 1 of this training provides tried-and-true, research-based methods to prevent challenging behaviors. Using these strategies will reduce teacher stress.
Section 2 dives into self-care. Topics include personal health habits, relaxation techniques such as Tai Chi and progressive muscle relaxation, breathing techniques, music, meditation, and making positive connections. This section is activity oriented and promises participants a chance to let go and have fun.

This workshop will explore the ways that the classroom can promote the growth of social skills, emotional self-awareness, and self-regulation while creating a nurturing environment where children and families feel valued, safe, and comfortable. Family - Teacher Communication (2 hours)
This workshop will provide insights into developing and maintaining positive, working relationships with the families of students. Methods include ways to begin the year, progress reports (with emphasis on reporting on ELDS state standards), strategies for effective conferences, writing family newsletters, and dealing with challenging children and their families.

Purposeful Portfolios (2 hours)
This workshop explains the need for and purposes of student portfolios. Topics covered: what to include, what to exclude, play-based teaching, hard copy assessments, skill checklists, anecdotal notes, developmental skills, The Early Learning and Development Standards, progress reports, conferencing with families, and portfolio organization.

Creating a Nurturing Environment (4 hours)
This workshop focuses on creating a positive classroom environment for
children and families. Methods include greetings/goodbyes, separation
anxiety, family involvement, and family communication. This training includes a site visit in order to gather photos for the training. There will be an additional charge for this.

Teacher - Assistant Relationships (2 - 2.25 hours)
This workshop guides teachers and assistants to find ways to strengthen their working relationships. Topics include discovering, appreciating, and utilizing
the strengths of one’s professional partner, communication, trouble shooting, and sharing of responsibilities.
